Should Canton have a dog park?
By Canton CitizenDo you want a dog park in Canton? The Canton Community Preservation Committee has received and approved a pre-application to create a dog park in town.
The town-wide survey asking residents for their preferences and support for CCPC projects showed that a dog park was among the top wishes. Canton Veterinary Clinic veterinarian Michelle Belisle submitted the initial application and will be assisting the supporters.
Many surrounding towns, including Sharon and Randolph, have dog parks that are widely used by local residents. If you feel it is time for Canton to have a place for dogs to run free and socialize off leash in a large fenced-in park, please join the Canton Dog Park supporters on Wednesday, November 13, at 7 p.m. in the Community Room at the Canton Public Library.
The group will work on the application to the CCPC as well as construction, location and funding sources. For questions, please email CCPC Vice Chairperson Kathy Fox Alfano at kfoxalfano@jackconway.com.
