Lawrence F. Lyman Sr., 72, of West Yarmouth, formerly of Sharon, a retired union carpenter, died October 19, 2013, following a brief illness.

Born in Boston, Larry grew up in Sharon. He married Jean Malcolmson of Canton in 1959. He was a proud member of the Carpenters Local #218. Larry was a member of the Sharon VFW, the Canton Town Club, the Sharon Country Club, and enjoyed Big D’s in Canton. He was a former coach of youth baseball and youth football. He was an avid golfer and sports fan.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Jean A. Lyman (Malcolmson), of West Yarmouth. Loving father of Kathleen Parrish of West Yarmouth, Lauri Bonfilio and her husband, Al, of Medfield, Lawrence Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Dedham, and Stephen of Bridgewater. Loving brother of Catherine Heuser of Florida. Larry is also survived by 10 grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours were held Wednesday, October 30, in the Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street. Interment is private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Larry’s memory to the Olivia Foundation, c/o Dedham Institute for Savings, 55 Elm St., Dedham, MA 02026.
