Man About Canton: Library Mini-Golf
By Joe DeFeliceDid you know …
The Friends of the Canton Public Library are coordinating a mini-golf fundraiser inside the library on Sunday, January 19, 2014. The fundraiser is called the Caddy Stacks Mini Golf Fundraiser. A professionally designed 18-hole golf course will be set up throughout the library with refreshments available for purchase at the 19th hole. The friends hope to attract around 400 townspeople of all ages to buy tickets and take part. They also plan to have a silent auction and a raffle.
The friends are seeking sponsors for this event right now so that they can cover the expenses of setting up the golf course. Businesses that sponsor tees and greens will have the opportunity to decorate them with promotional items, or someone will do it for them. For a donation of $2,500, the friends will name the fundraising event after the business or individual such as “The (business/name) Invitational Caddy Stacks Tournament.” The friends will advertise such sponsorship in the media, on the library’s large electronic sign, and with signs and banners at the event. Sponsoring opportunities also include $500 (clubhouse sponsor); $250 (golf cart sponsor); and $150 (caddy sponsor). For more information or to sponsor, contact Lori Fanara at larjfan@aol.com.
The Canton library is the one community organization that services the whole town from ages 1 to 100. This is a unique fundraising event, and MAC plans to buy a ticket and take part in this mini-golf tournament. It should be a terrific time.
