Curran, Joseph A.
By Canton CitizenJoseph A. Curran, 89, of Canton, passed away on November 23 at the VA Hospital in West Roxbury.
Born and raised in South Boston, he attended Boston Public Schools. Joe enlisted in the U.S. Army at the age of 19. Serving as a corporal during World War II, he earned a Gold Conduct Medal, Victory Medal and American Theater Campaign Ribbon. Mr. Curran worked for the commonwealth of Massachusetts as a junior civil engineer for many years before retiring. He was a member of the Canton Senior Center, an avid Yankees fan, and loved listening to the radio.
He was the beloved husband of the late Constance (Sloan). Father of Donna Pothier of VA and Joanne Callahan of TX. Brother of John “Jack” Curran of Milton, Noreen Gatto and Mary DiPerri, both of South Boston. Also survived by five grandchildren.
