Man eludes police after car chase, accident
By Mike BergerCanton Police have issued an arrest warrant for a West Roxbury man who led police on a chase from Route 138 (Washington and Randolph streets) to Route 128 north, where he fled into the woods after crashing his vehicle.
The incident occurred around 1 a.m. on Friday, December 13. The suspect, later identified as Lamont Lungelow, 33, managed to elude police canine units. He will be charged with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended license, failure to stop for police, no inspection sticker, reckless operation of a motor vehicle, marked lanes violation, speeding, leaving the scene of a personal injury accident, failure to stop/yield, possession of a Class A substance (heroin), and possession of Class B substance (cocaine).
A passenger in the car, Jennifer Lee Wyeth, 25, of Malden, was treated for minor injuries in the accident. Police arrested her for outstanding warrants, including possession of Class A and Class B substances. Wyeth pleaded not guilty to the charges. Bail was set at $500 and she was released pending a January 7 court appearance.
Victim flown to Boston hospital following fall
An unidentified man was transported via MedFlight from the CHS baseball field to Brigham & Women’s Hospital after he fell from a ladder while trying to put up Christmas decorations. The incident occurred at a home on Cedarcrest Road on Thursday, December 12, around 5 p.m. Fire Chief Charlie Doody said the man suffered serious injuries to his head and chest.
Fire Dept. busy during weekend storm
The Canton Fire Department received 17 calls during the weekend storm between the hours of 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, and noon on Sunday. Fire Chief Charlie Doody said the calls involved medical emergencies, isolated power outages, falls, and minor motor vehicle accidents.
