Spintig, Frederick
By Canton CitizenFrederick Spintig, 84, of Canton, passed away January 15 at Norwood Hospital.
Born in Norwood, he was raised in Canton, graduated from Canton High School, and was a lifelong resident of the town. He worked for the Canton Department of Public Works for many years and retired in 1988 as superintendent. He was an avid candlepin bowler and was a member of the Norwood Business Bowling League. He was known in Canton for his ability on the baseball and softball diamonds and was a sponsor for the Canton A’s baseball team.
Beloved husband of Regina M. (Morley). Father of Frederick Jr. and his wife, Susan, of Stoughton, and the late Ronald Spintig. Brother of Harold Harkins and Charlotte Dickie, both of Canton, and the late Alyce Plant, Beverly Vincent, Claire Whiting and Robert Spintig. Also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A funeral service was held Monday morning, January 20, at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street. Burial private. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canton EMT Association, 99 Revere St., Canton, MA 02021. For guestbook, see dockrayandthomasfuneralhome.com.
