Anastasia “Ann” Manoles, 79, of Canton, died Monday morning, January 28, 2014, at the Hellenic Nursing Home in Canton after a lengthy illness.

manolesBorn in Boston to the late Nicholas and Demetra (Trupos) Loupos, she was raised and educated in Brookline, graduating with Brookline High School’s Class of 1952. A longtime resident of the Hyde Park section of Boston, she has resided in Canton for more than 30 years.

Mrs. Manoles took great joy in being with her family and dear friends and spending time at her seasonal residence in Naples, Florida. An avid golfer, Mrs. Manoles loved music and singing and had participated in the choir at the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Boston. She was a member of the Hellenic Nursing Home’s Women’s Benevolent Association and had been active in the ladies societies within the church.

Mrs. Manoles is survived by her husband of 53 years, George L. Manoles; her daughters, Dianne Manoles of Canton and Demetra Manoles Roker and her husband, Ronald, of Guntersville, Alabama; and her grandson, Luke.

She was predeceased by her brother, George Loupos.

Funeral services in celebration of Ann’s life were held in Saint Gregory the Theologian Greek Orthodox Church in Mansfield. Interment followed at the Knollwood Memorial Park in Canton.

Expressions of sympathy may be made in Ann’s memory to either the Hellenic Nursing Home, 601 Sherman St., Canton, MA 02021, or to Saint Gregory the Theologian Church, 1007 West Street, P.O. Box 293, Mansfield, MA 02048.

The Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, assisted Mrs. Manoles’ family with arrangements.
