Sloan, Lucille B.
By Canton CitizenLucille B. (Alsop) Sloan, 85, of Canton, died Tuesday morning, February 4, 2014, at the Hellenic Nursing Home after a lengthy illness.
She was born in Norwood, the daughter of the late William and Louise (Sevigny) Alsop, and has been a lifelong Canton resident.
A beautician, Mrs. Sloan began her career at Mary Brady’s Salon and then went on to open her own, “Lucille’s Beauty Salon,” which she operated for over 15 years.
Mrs. Sloan enjoyed traveling and cruising, crocheting, and was a very good cook.
She is survived by her sons, Paul Sloan and his wife, Linda, of Canton, and David Sloan of Canton; her sisters, Norma Hebert of Merritt Island, Florida, and Dorothy Kairis and her brother, William Alsop, of Rutland, Vermont.
She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren and 29 great-grandchildren.
Her family would like to express their deepest gratitude to the staff of the Hellenic Nursing Home for the great care they gave Mrs. Sloan over these past years and would like those who wish to make donations in her memory to the Hellenic Nursing Home, 601 Sherman St., Canton, MA 02021.
The Roache-Pushard Family Funeral Home, 210 Sherman Street, is assisting the Sloan family with arrangements.
