Take advantage of Canton’s fire prevention program

Dear Editor:

Did you know that Canton offers a fire prevention program that many of our residents may not be aware of? Thanks to Fire Chief Charlie Doody, all it takes is a phone call to the Fire Department and a team from Fire Prevention will be at your home ready to install not only smoke alarms but carbon monoxide detectors too. These are both provided by the Fire Department free of charge!

Just recently my parents took advantage of this wonderful program and made the call. The next day Lt. Lester and Lt. Johnson arrived at my parents’ home and within an hour had my parents’ home up to fire and carbon monoxide regulations. Canton residents are so fortunate to have this service available to them.

Unfortunately, we were informed not too many residents have taken advantage of these free safety precautions. Call now if you care about your loved ones and make your home a safer place.
