By Mike BergerCanton detectives continue to investigate a drive-by shooting in which three rounds were fired into a house on Revere Court early Friday morning, February 28, around 4 a.m. No one was injured in the house.
Deputy Police Chief Helena Rafferty said the shooting was not a random act and was related to an incident that occurred earlier in the night in another community. She declined to be more specific about the incident.
Detectives were able to recover ballistic evidence but have been hampered in the investigation by the lack of information from the impacted homeowner.

CPD officers begin fundraising effort
The Canton Police Association is beginning a local fundraising drive through a direct mail campaign to Canton residents. A letter signed by CPD officers said the mail campaign and the annual fall golf tournament are the only times that the association solicits donations. “The use of direct mail allows us to keep 100 percent of your donations, to be distributed to area charities,” states the letter. Besides local groups, the association makes donations on behalf of police officers across Massachusetts and across the country affected by illness and injuries incurred in the line of duty. Checks should be made payable to the Canton Police Association and mailed to P.O. Box 31, Canton, MA 02021. For more information, call 781-828-1212.
