By

At least 25 Canton firefighters and members of the Canton Police Department attended the funerals of two Boston firefighters, Lt. Ed Walsh and firefighter Mike Kennedy, who died while battling a nine-alarm blaze in the Back Bay last Wednesday. Flags at the two Canton fire stations were flown at half mast from March 26 through the end of the funerals held today, April 3. Four firefighters from Tennessee stayed at the fire station so they could attend the funerals.

A memorial fund has been established through the Boston Firefighters Credit Union. Checks can be mailed to the Lt. Walsh-Firefighter Kennedy Memorial Fund, Boston Firefighters Credit Union, 60 Hallet St., Dorchester, MA 02124. Credit card donations can be made through the credit union website, www.bosfirecu.com.
