Sicard Kelleher, Jean E.
By Canton CitizenJean E. Sicard Kelleher, 54, of Canton, passed away April 8 at home surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Warwick, Rhode Island, she lived almost her entire life in Canton and graduated from Canton High School, Class of 1977. She received her bachelor’s from Boston College and her master’s in education from Wheelock College. She previously taught at the Massachusetts Hospital School and has been a teacher at St. John the Evangelist School in Canton for the last 30 years.
Jean was a standout athlete and was an All-American field hockey player at Boston College. She was an avid soccer fan and was the team mother for the South Coast Scorpions and the Boston University soccer team, where her daughter Shauna played college soccer. Jean was a member and former lifeguard of the Ponkapoag Civic and pool director at Nobles and Greenough School Summer Day Camp.
She is survived by her loving husband, Michael R. Kelleher. Devoted mother of Shauna R. of South Boston and Matthew D. of CA. Sister of Clair Lund and her husband, Scott, of Canton. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visiting hours in the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Friday, April 11, from 4-8 p.m. Funeral mass Saturday, April 12, at 10 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church. Interment St. Mary’s Cemetery. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
