Carlson, James F.
By Canton CitizenJames F. Carlson, Sr., 75, of Canton, passed away May 12 at the High Gate Manor in Dedham.
Born and raised in Boston, he attended Boston schools and was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He worked for M.D. Stetson Co. in Randolph as a salesman for 35 years before retiring. He also previously worked as a self-employed photographer and as a photographer for the Herald Traveler. He lived in Canton from 1974 to 2008 and was a coach for Canton Youth Soccer for many years and was a member of the Canton Men’s Soccer Team.
Beloved husband of the late Margaret M. (Coyle). Father of Deborah Carlson-Evans and her husband, Paul, of North Attleboro, James F. Jr. and his wife, Irene, of North Easton, Pamela Carlson of West Roxbury, and Scott Carlson of Chelmsford. Grandfather of Jonathan and Jameson Evans, and Samantha, Amanda and James Carlson. Brother of John V. Carlson of NH, Eleanor Hanlon of Wayland, and the late Elizabeth Lebedew.
A funeral mass will be held Thursday, May 15, at 10:30 a.m. in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery. Donations may be made in his memory to the American Lung Association, 460 Totten Pond Rd. #400, Waltham, MA 02451. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
