John E. Bacon, 81, of Canton, passed away May 28 at Norwood Hospital.

Bacon, JohnBorn and raised in Ciciero, Illinois, he graduated from Lyons High School in Illinois. He was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a plant manager for Norris Industries in Brockton. He previously lived in Stoneham, where he was the chairman of the annual local Red Cross blood drive, and has lived in Canton since 1972. He enjoyed golf and was a member of Wampatuck Country Club in Canton. He was an avid reader and enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and growing tomatoes in his garden.

Father of John Michael Bacon and his wife, Terry, of S. Easton, Tim Bacon of Canton, and Tom Bacon and his wife, Donna, of Stoughton. Brother of A. Raymond Bacon of Chicago and the late Llewellyn Marciszewski. Also survived by nine grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral mass was held Saturday morning in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial private. Donations may be made in his memory to the Canton EMT Association, 99 Revere St., Canton, MA 02021, or to the American Heart Association, www.heart.org.
