Bank of Canton names 2 to Top Performers Circle
By Canton CitizenBank of Canton has named two employees to the Top Performers Circle: Jill Corwin and Doreen Sweeney.
Corwin, a Canton resident, works as a customer service representative at the bank’s main branch at 557 Washington Street. As part of her recognition in this elite group, she has chosen Catholic Charities South as the beneficiary of a $500 contribution from the bank, which was made in her honor.
“I’ve served on the board of Catholic Charities South Advisory Board for four years, and we provide hope to needy families,” Corwin said. “I’ve also been involved in the organization’s Fashion Show and Spring Gala, which also assist families in need and provide nursing assistant scholarships.”
Corwin is also involved in WeBeatCancer.org, a Gallahue/Rooney Family Foundation. The Canton-based charity provides assistance to Boston area cancer patients and their families. Corwin serves on the Dinner Committee for its annual event.
“It’s awesome to work for a local bank that gives back to the community and appreciates my charitable contributions,” Corwin said.
Sweeney, a deposit operations manager at Bank of Canton’s Operations Center, was also named to the Top Performers Circle. She selected the Braintree Community Food Pantry as the beneficiary of a $500 contribution from the bank that was made in her honor.
“I wanted to support an organization in my home town that has been making a difference to people in need,” Sweeney said. “The food pantry is now feeding over 3,000 people annually. Its delivery van recently died, and hopefully this contribution will help.”
“Bank of Canton encourages us to get involved in charitable causes,” she said. “The award was a surprise. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for the dedicated people who work for me.”
Sweeney has worked in banking for the past 32 years, including 15 at Bank of Canton. She lives in Braintree with her husband, Bob.
