Coutu, Earl R.

Earl R. Coutu, 90, of Sharon, passed away July 12 at Norwood Hospital.

Born in Fall River, he was raised in Hyde Park and attended Boston Public Schools and Bryant & Stratton. He was an Army veteran of World War II and a member of the Boston Police Department from 1947-1980, retiring as a lieutenant. He was a member of the Boston Police Superior Officers Association. In his spare time, Earl enjoyed fishing, reading and working in his garden and around the house.

Beloved husband of the late Lorraine (Mann). Father of June R. Coutu and her close friend Steven Besaw of Sharon and the late Russell Coutu. Earl is survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held Wednesday morning, July 16, in the United Church of Christ in Canton. Burial Canton Corner Cemetery. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street. For guestbook, see dockrayandthomasfuneralhome.com.
