Marinaro, Helen M.
By Canton CitizenHelen M. Marinaro (Alfieri), 95, of Canton, passed away at home August 1.
Born and raised in Canton, she graduated from Canton High School in 1936 where she was the captain of the field hockey team. She is a lifelong resident of Canton and was a member of the Community Club of Canton and a volunteer at the Canton Senior Center. She enjoyed spending time at the Senior Center, bowling, knitting, and was an avid reader.
Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Mother of Joseph Marinaro Jr. and his wife, Alison, of Canton, James Marinaro and his wife, Mary, of North Easton, Elena Williams of Fall River, Donna Oser and her husband, Michael, of Mansfield, Cynthia Lydon and her husband, Mark, of Norton, and Virginia Marinaro of North Easton. Sister of the late Walter Alfieri and Lena Morandi. Also survived by five grandchildren, one great-grandson, and several nieces and nephews.
A funeral mass was held Monday, August 4, in St. John the Evangelist Church in Canton. Burial Knollwood Memorial Park, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Canton Senior Center, 660 Washington St., Canton, MA 02021. Arrangements by the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street.
