Governor Deval Patrick and Debra Miller, vice president of external affairs for the NH Community Loan Fund and Whittier’s board chair, will be honored during the event for their civic involvement and commitment to improving the quality of life for Boston’s disadvantaged citizens. Gospel music icon Dr. Bobby Jones, host of Black Entertainment Television’s Bobby Jones Gospel, will host the event.

The Oladipo Sisters are a young gospel recording duo who started performing together in 2009. The sisters, Oladunni, 16, and Olayeni, 14, perform original gospel, inspirational, and patriotic songs. This marks their sixth appearance at the Whittier Street International Gospel Concert. Many of their cover songs, spanning different music genres, have been released on YouTube. Their debut album, The Mighty One (2011), an original contemporary gospel album, was released to critical acclaim. This was followed by the release of an original patriotic song called “A Song for America” (2012), which had its world premiere with the Boston Pops in June 2013. Their new single, “Trade It All In” (2014), was recently released.

In July 2013, the Oladipo Sisters were invited to host and present their own original show on RootsRadiolove.com called “Oladipo Sisters’ Playlist,” which airs every Saturday to national and international audiences.
