Canton’s McCarthy begins term as GBAR president
By Canton CitizenDavid McCarthy of Canton, operating partner for Keller Williams Realty Boston-Metro and Keller Williams Realty Chestnut Hill Market Center, was recently installed as president of the Greater Boston Association of Realtors (GBAR) for 2015. The installation ceremonies took place at Brae Burn Country Club in Newton in December.
As president, McCarthy will serve as a the primary spokesperson for GBAR, preside at all meetings of GBAR’s board of directors and executive committee, and appoint chairpersons, vice chairpersons and members for all GBAR standing committees, task forces and work groups. Additionally, McCarthy sits on the board of directors for the Massachusetts (MAR) and National Association of Realtors (NAR) as well as the Greater Boston Real Estate Board (GBREB).
A Realtor since 2004, McCarthy has chaired the GBAR Strategic Planning, Education, and Grievance committees and served on the GBAR Professional Standards Committee, the GBREB Government Affairs Committee, the MAR Convention Planning and Government Affairs and Forms Content committees, and the NAR Member Communications Committee.
The GBAR is one of five real estate specialty divisions of the Greater Boston Real Estate Board. The association is the board’s largest division with a membership of more than 7,200 residential real estate professionals working in over 800 offices throughout metropolitan Boston and eastern Massachusetts. The board is a member of the National Association of Realtors and the Massachusetts Association of Realtors.
