Canton youth wrestler, 7, captures two state titles

Dominic Marinilli, a 7 year old from Canton, captured a pair of state titles in a dominant showing at the Massachusetts Youth State Wrestling Championships held on Sunday, February 8, at Salem High School.
Competing in the 50-pound weight class, Marinilli won the K-2 division and then went on to compete in the grades 3-4 division, wrestling with the older boys and surprising everyone by winning every match and his second state championship of the day.
The second-year wrestler is now qualified to compete in the Youth New England Wrestling Championships on March 15 in Reading. Marinilli belongs to the CBC wrestling club in Raynham where he trains three days a week.
