Town to blame for rink collapse
By Canton CitizenDear Editor:
News flash! Town of Canton look no further. The mystery is solved! The skating rink collapsed because common sense had the shovels, work ethic lapsed, foolish red tape, and lastly, the game of pass the buck. Most important, thanks to the powers that be, no gifts from God were killed! Don’t worry, the taxpayers have more blood to squeeze out for the unnecessary damage repair (if possible) of this much-needed rink, used for the very real character building of many youths (a heck of a lot better than drugs!).
But what do I know? I am only a grammar school graduate, father of eight children, 55 years paying heavy taxes in Canton, president and founder of Corkery Tractor Trailer, Inc., founder of R&M and M&R Realty Trusts. A high roller? No, just a hard worker. Humble? No. I am furious! My 6-year-old grandson also skates there. Anyone with half a brain would not have let this totally unnecessary and dangerous collapse happen.
How about the schools? Waiting only until after this terrible collapse to begin cleaning their roofs? Come on, Canton, do better! You have let the youth and many others down. Find some common sense!
