By Canton CitizenBy Judy Bass
Youngsters searching for summer fun, adventure, opportunities to make new friends, enjoyment, and more will find it all at Camp Blue on the campus of Blue Hills Regional Technical School in Canton.
Camp Blue will operate from June 29 to August 14 between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. This new summer camp is for children entering first grade through sixth grade in the fall of 2015. There will also be coed sport-specific camps for children ages 7-12.
At Camp Blue, campers will have a traditional day camp experience as well as the chance to explore specific areas of interest in one of many specialty camps.
The specialty camps will concentrate on skill development and game strategy for the sport chosen. The choices include boys lacrosse, coed basketball, coed street hockey, coed introduction to golf, coed flag football, coed multi-sports, coed soccer, coed swimming and diving, girls field hockey, and girls lacrosse. Each of these camps have a half-day option for just the specific sport in the mornings, or campers can go for a full day and join their appropriate age groups for the afternoon.
Children can select from a variety of sports, games, crafts, swimming lessons and recreational swim, archery and many more camp favorite activities. There are also special events such as Carnival Day, traveling zoos, storytellers, a talent show, and other themed activities.
All programs are created and run by caring and committed educators who seek to provide a vibrant, safe, and stimulating environment for the campers. The camp staff is dedicated to making every camper feel acknowledged and supported as they try new things and interact with others.
The goal of Camp Blue is to provide each camper with a memorable summer filled with new adventures and lasting friendships.
