Herr family grateful for community support

Dear Editor:

We want to publicly thank the many people who supported the two recent events held in support of our son’s charity, the Scott M. Herr Memorial Foundation. In early March, the annual floor hockey tournament was held at Canton High School. Participants included students and faculty alike. We want to thank all who participated and supported the tournament and especially recognize the efforts of Canton High School students Caitlin Hutchinson, Carly Hutchinson and Casey Bradley, who organized the event, and also the Canton Firefighters Local 1580 for their generous donation.

The second event was the annual Canton High School alumni hockey game. Coaches, parents and alumni took on the CHS varsity team in a very competitive match. Our thanks goes to all the players and those who attended the game, especially the event organizers, including coach Brian Shuman, Bobby Galvin, and Scott Connolly.

All proceeds from these events go to the foundation’s annual scholarship fund as well as the Scott M. Herr Fitness Center at Canton High School. The continuing support of the entire Canton community for our son Scott’s memorial foundation is greatly appreciated.
