Deadline to register for special election is June 3
By Canton CitizenTown Clerk Tracy K. Kenney has announced that the last day to register to vote for the June 23 special election will be Wednesday, June 3. The Town Clerk’s office will be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. on June 3.
Residents who would like to have a voter registration form mailed to them should call 781-821-5013. Upon receipt, the form must be completed and returned to the Town Clerk’s office no later than 8 p.m. on June 3 or mailed with a postmark no later than June 3.
Residents who are already registered to vote at their current address do not need to re-register.
The polls will be open on election day from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. The following question will appear on the ballot:
Shall the town of Canton be allowed to exempt from the provisions of Proposition 2 ½, so called, the amounts required to pay for the bond issued in order to construct and equip (including furniture, fixtures and equipment) an eight-classroom addition of the Lt. Peter M. Hansen Elementary School?
The polling locations for the June 23 special town election are as follows:
Precincts 1 & 6 Canton High School, Rodman Building, 960 Washington Street
Precinct 2 Dean S. Luce Elementary School, 45 Independence Street
Precinct 3 Blue Hills Regional School, 800 Randolph Street
Precincts 4 & 5 John F. Kennedy School, 100 Dedham Street
