Seniors grateful for COA, new senior center
By Canton CitizenDear Editor:
We are so grateful for the newly constructed senior center. The surroundings are very comfortable with the new furniture and carpets. It’s wonderful to have an environment that is so well lit and climate controlled. The abundance of parking is also a plus.
There is something for everyone. There are board games, an assortment of card games, an abundant library, free Wi-Fi, wonderful movies with popcorn/drinks, Wii bowling, pool, and just socializing with coffee and pastries. It is all free of charge, including the transportation to get there. There are many vendors that also provide breads and pastries (Panera, Shaw’s, Roche Bros., Stop and Shop). Then there is the Conroy family, who provides a delicious catered monthly dinner to our senior center. There are fabulous exercise courses (for every physical level) at very nominal costs for yoga, Zumba, and other heart healthy exercises set to various kinds of fun music. There are cookouts, day trips, health clinics, knitting, art, and chorus. The atmosphere is so friendly and filled with laughter and love. We also have the opportunity to get worldwide trips at group rates.
Of course, the backbone of the organization is the director, Diane Tynan, and outreach worker Robin Tobin. We cannot express how they both pamper us, continuously ask for suggestions, and endlessly strive to accommodate us. They are the ones who make everything flow seamlessly. Their graciousness, kindness, and complete competence make this house a home.
Sincerely,
Grateful Canton seniors
