Blue Ribbon Traffic Committee IDs early study priorities

By

The Blue Ribbon Traffic Committee has identified its first two focus areas and they are Randolph and Washington streets and the recently redesigned intersection at Randolph Street and Route 138 (Turnpike Street).

The latter intersection has generated complaints about the lack of through traffic lanes and the difficulty that trucks have had making turns.

The committee also plans to ask town officials about the status of intersection design plans at Washington and Chapman streets. Other topics identified for future discussion include light synchronization at Neponset and Fuller streets and Neponset and Chapman streets and traffic around the Canton Junction train station. The committee also wants the traffic complaint form on the town website to be more visible and wants to be made aware of each form that is filed.

The next committee meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 30, at 7 p.m. at town hall, and residents are invited to attend and share their traffic-related concerns and questions.
