Humboldt Storage & Moving to hold annual Truck Pull
By Canton CitizenCanton-based Humboldt Storage and Moving, the oldest moving company in greater Boston, will hold its fourth annual Truck Pull to benefit Special Olympics Massachusetts. Teams will get a chance to pull a number of heavy vehicles, including a full-size moving van, all to raise money for this important cause.
The Truck Pull will be held on October 17 on the Boston College campus in the parking lot at Edmonds Hall. The event will start at 10 a.m. Teams of 10 individuals will get the chance to pull a full-sized tractor trailer, a box truck, an ambulance, and one of the famous Duck Boats from Boston Duck Tours.
Close to $50,000 has been raised in the first three years of the event. Those entering teams include police, fitness enthusiasts, and corporate teams as well as other moving companies in Boston. All of the money raised has gone to the health and sports programs of Special Olympics Massachusetts.
How it works: Each team can have a maximum of 10 participants, and a minimum entry fee of $1,000 is required for each team. Lunch, beverages and an event t-shirt are all included.
Each team will have to pull all vehicles, working their way up according to the weight of each vehicle. The team will need to pull all vehicles as fast as they can for 25 feet and the cumulative total with the lowest combined time will win the event.
“This event is a great way to raise much-needed funds for Special Olympics Massachusetts and have a fun day of team building in the process,” said James Sullivan, president of Humboldt Storage and Moving. “The money we raise goes directly to support some very inspirational athletes and the programs they all deserve.”
