Malcolmson, Ralph

Ralph Malcolmson, 95, of Leominster, formerly of Canton, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2015, at his home surrounded by family.

Ralph, or “Papa” as he was called by many, was born in Stoughton on September 3, 1920, the son of the late Samuel and Annie (Dalzell) Malcolmson. He graduated from Canton High School and in 1941 married his high school sweetheart, Flora Stone.

Before being drafted into the Army he was a welder at the Quincy Shipyard and worked on the USS Massachusetts. He fought in Europe during World War II at the Battle of the Bulge with Co. G 36th Armored Infantry Regime. He was injured during combat and received the Purple Heart …
