A Coast Guard veteran of the Korean War, John worked for many years for Eastern Airlines, both as an aviation mechanic and a pilot. An expert ham radio operator, he volunteered at the Massachusetts Hospital School in Canton, sharing his hobby and his skill with the young students there.
