Marathas, James
By Canton CitizenJames Marathas, 31, passed away unexpectedly on January 2.
James lived most of his early life in Canton, attending Canton schools. Over the past 10 years he lived in Brockton. He had been working with his dad as an accounting clerk at Overlook VNA in Hingham for the last several years. James enjoyed watching sports and was a Bruins fan, Patriots fan, and like his dad, an avid New York Yankees fan. James was a kind, generous, loving man. He loved his family and his dogs. He especially loved spending time with his nephew Preston in recent years.
He is survived by his parents, Bill Marathas and his fiancée, Mary Murphy, and his loving sister Colleen Flynn and her son Preston Walker. Also survived by his grandfather John Aberts and James Murphy Sr., who was like a grandfather to him for many years, and his aunts and uncles, including Sandy Zaniboni, Judy Corrigan, Peter and Mary Marathas, Steven and Tammy Marathas, Rain and Jesse Costa, Karen and John Correia, Kathy Murphy and John Powers, Patti and Pat Donovan, Jim Murphy and Ron Demont. There were many cousins and family members in the Aberts, Marathas, Hart and Murphy families as well as many family friends who over the years played a big part in his life and loved him deeply.
He has now joined his beloved mom, Jean Marathas, his grandmothers Helen Marathas and Doris Aberts, his grandfather Peter Marathas Sr., and his aunt Virginia “Gigi” Demont.
He will stay forever in our hearts and minds. Rest in peace our beloved James.
