On Saturday, March 5, Canton resident Brian Moore-Ward and his team of “B’s Climbing Fools” will once again attempt to scale all 61 flights of stairs at 200 Clarendon Tower (formerly the John Hancock Tower) as part of the National Multiple Sclerosis Society’s seventh annual Climb to the Top Boston.

An MS sufferer himself, Moore-Ward has successfully completed all six of the previous climbs while raising thousands of dollars for MS education, support, advocacy, and research. Last year alone, Moore-Ward and his team raised more than $11,000, and they are hoping to exceed that total in 2016 with a little help from his friend and hot air balloon partner, Adam Williams of WHDH Boston.

For the second year in a row, Williams, who anchors the weekday evening broadcasts, is offering a chance to win a private studio tour of the 7News studio, with all proceeds going to B’s Climbing Fools.

Between now and March 1, anyone who donates $50 or more to the team or any individual team member will be automatically entered into a raffle, and five lucky winners will each receive a private tour for them and four of their friends.

For Moore-Ward, the addition of a raffle makes giving a donation a win-win proposition. Not only do donors have a chance to win a great prize, but they also gain the satisfaction of knowing they did their part in the fight against MS — an unpredictable and often disabling disease of the central nervous system that currently has no known cause or cure.

As he notes on his fundraising page, “Multiple sclerosis affects people in the prime of their lives, between the ages of 20 and 50. Every hour someone is newly diagnosed with multiple sclerosis. More than 2.5 million people worldwide live with this unpredictable disease. The symptoms of MS are different for everyone — the only certainty is that it will affect yet another person every hour of every day.”

Moore-Ward and his team are once again looking to “make their mark” and make a difference in the lives of those living with MS. “By supporting [our team], you too will make your mark in this pursuit,” said Moore-Ward. “Let’s move forward together.”
