Canton firefighters and paramedics transported a man from the scene of R&L Corp., located at 30 Industrial Drive, to Boston Medical Center on Tuesday, May 24, around 1:45 p.m. Fire Lt. Greg Woodbury said a man fell from a roof through a skylight. Woodbury said the victim was conscious when he arrived at the hospital.
Firefighters transport 4 injured in 3-car pileup
Canton firefighters and paramedics helped transport four accident victims to various hospitals following a three-vehicle accident on Route 24 near Route 139 on Friday, May 27, around 8 a.m. When frefighters arrived they found a box truck on its side after it had collided with two other vehicles. Canton firefighters transported two to Boston Medical Center and Good Samaritan Hospital, and Stoughton and Randolph firefighters transported the other two victims to other area hospitals. Traffic was snarled in the area for 90 minutes.
Firefighters, police help rescue trapped ducklings
Five firefighters, the town’s animal control officer, and police responded to a call of trapped ducklings under a waterfall near 660 Washington Street on Saturday, May 28, around 8:30 p.m. Firefighters used a roof ladder to get to the waterfall area and used a net to capture the ducklings and transport them to their mother in the Forge Pond area.
In other calls last week, firefighters responded to an electrical fire at Sanofi Pasteur, a biochemical company located at 90 Shawmut Road. They also responded to a report of smoke coming from a chimney on York Street on May 27, at 11:30 a.m. Firefighters traced the problem to a faulty furnace and disabled the unit.
