Canton police still looking for armed robbery suspects

Deputy Police Chief Helena Rafferty reported on Tuesday morning that police have some leads but are still looking for the public’s help in identifying two male suspects who are wanted in connection with an armed robbery at Andalus Variety Mart, located at 1036 Turnpike Street (Route 138), on Saturday, June 4, at 1:30 p.m.

The clerk, who was not hurt in the incident, was handcuffed by the two suspects but was still able to get to a phone and dial 911. The suspects, both male, fled the store in a gray/silver BMW with $900 in cash and lottery tickets.

Police described the suspects as one light-skinned male and one dark-skinned male wearing dark-colored pants and dark sweatshirts. One suspect was described as 5’11” or six feet tall while the other was described as 5’8” or 5’9”.

A black handgun was shown during the robbery. Police used a canine in the search, and the investigation is ongoing as police are looking at video and have received a couple of leads. Members of the Massachusetts State Police and Stoughton Police have been assisting Canton detectives with the investigation.
