DCR to hold public meetings on Blue Hills deer plan
By Canton CitizenSenator Brian A. Joyce (D-Milton) announced two upcoming public meetings to discuss the 2016 White-Tailed Deer Management Plan for the Blue Hills State Reservation.
Staff from the Department of Conservation and Recreation (DCR) and Department of Fish and Game (DFW) will review outcomes of the 2015 controlled hunt and preview the proposed deer management plan for 2016. All are welcome to attend.
The first meeting will be held in the Milton High School auditorium on Tuesday, July 12, from 6:30 to 8 p.m., and the second meeting will be held in the cafeteria at Blue Hills Regional Technical School on Tuesday, August 2, from 6:30 to 8 p.m.
DCR and DFW have issued a report regarding the 2015 Deer Management Program. The report provides details regarding the logistics, operations, and results of last year’s controlled hunt. Anyone wishing to submit written comments on the proposed 2016 plan may submit them at mass.gov/eea/agencies/dcr/public-outreach/submit-public-comments or by mail to the DCR Office of Public Outreach, 251 Causeway Street, 6th Floor, Boston, MA 02114. The deadline for submitting written comments is Friday, August 5.
