Speed limits should be lowered everywhere

Editor’s note: An examination of motor vehicle speeding and enforcement in Canton, including results from a recent online poll, appeared in the August 11 edition of the Canton Citizen.

Dear Editor:

Boston has begun lowering speed limits all over the city due to the new bill that passed the legislature making it easier for towns to set new limits. I highly recommend Canton also do this everywhere — including side streets and Washington Street — as soon as possible. Tragedies will be prevented by strict police enforcement. There is absolutely no excuse for speeding on residential streets.
