Canton businesses awarded state safety training grants
By Canton CitizenState Representative Bill Galvin (D-Canton) is pleased to announce that FM Generator and Timberline Construction, which are both located in Canton, are receiving grants from the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Developmentās Occupational Safety Health Education and Training Program. These trainings aim to prevent workplace injuries by promoting healthy and safe work environments.
FM Generator sells and services commercial and residential generators. They provide repair, installation, rebuilds, and preventative maintenance of generators. Their training will focus on electrical safety, hazardous materials, and ergonomics.
Timberline Construction is an experienced general contracting and wireless construction company. Their training includes safety exercises for the use of forklifts, personnel lifts, crane signals, bucket trucks, and OSHA compliance.
The Occupational Safety Health Education and Training Program reviews and awards grants on an annual, rolling basis in an effort to encourage businesses to approach safety proactively. A total of $700,000 was allocated for Fiscal Year 2017 to be distributed to qualifying businesses across the commonwealth.
