Hannah Link paces CHS indoor track team in loss to Sharon
By Mike BergerBoth CHS indoor track teams are still looking for their first meet win after falling to Sharon last Wednesday at the Reggie Lewis Track Center in Boston. The girls lost to the Eagles 71-29 and the boys lost 80-19 as both teams fell to 0-3 on the season.
For the girls team, senior Hannah Link provided many of the highlights as she won the 300 meters and qualified for the state meet while placing third in the shot put. She was also part of the winning 4×200 relay team that qualified for states along with Sarah Collins, Leianna Brune, and Selena Cho.
Cho also scored in multiple events for the Bulldogs, placing second in the long jump and third in the 55m dash. Claire Belisle won the 55m hurdles; Bronwyn Mahoney (shot put) and Collins (600m) both took home second; and Ally Chin (two-mile), James Polsgrove (mile), and Maggie Dunn (1,000m) each placed third.
On the boys’ side, Jack Healey and Muhammad Sambo were the top performers with Healey winning the mile and Sambo placing third and qualifying for the state meet in the 300. Healey was also part of the winning 4×400 relay along with Gerry Sullivan, Dillon Anderson and Nick Kuk. Other point scorers for the boys were Anderson, 2nd, 600m; Cam McManus, 2nd, two-mile; Will Amico, 3rd, long jump; and Matt Floyd, 3rd, 55m hurdles.
Both teams were due to face Foxboro on Thursday, January 12, at 4:30 p.m. at the Reggie Lewis Center.
