Food for thought from a different point of view
By Canton CitizenEditor’s note: The following is in response to a letter by Alice Brown that appeared in last week’s Canton Citizen.
Dear Editor:
It doesn’t sound like Alice Brown lives in the same United States of America that I do.
Our republic’s Constitution calls for an Electoral College in order to count the votes of the citizens who don’t live in high population centers. While we democratically elect our representatives, we’re not actually a democracy (i.e., one person, one vote).
Since she believes that President-elect Trump should be impeached, perhaps she can share with the readers what offenses he’s been charged with.
In 2012 President Obama told the Russian prime minister that after the upcoming election, he’d have more flexibility in his dealings with Russia. That sounds very welcoming to Mr. Putin to me. Also, I’m certain that Mr. Obama has never served in defense of his country, even in the Illinois National Guard. He had very little legislative experience before he was elected the first time.
Food for thought.
Sincerely,
Rick Notkin
