The Canton High School Alumni Association will hold its annual “Team Trivia Night” on Friday, April 7, at 7 p.m. at the Canton American Legion. There will be a 50/50 raffle, a wine basket raffle, and Red Sox tickets donated by Canton alumna Nancy Zoppa Bender. DJ Gary Titus will provide the entertainment. Over the past two years, the CHS Alumni Association has contributed $15,778 to Canton High School for various causes, including two $1,000 scholarships; Chromebooks for the library; Athletic Department display cases; digital scales for the Science Department; and support for the annual CHS All-Night Graduation Party.
The CHS Alumni Board of Directors includes Velma Wyman Coffey, president; Carolyn Christino, vice president; Stephen Hagan, treasurer and clerk; Archie Radden, database guru; Diane Glenn; Tula Sfougaris; Mary (Roache) Harding; and Sue (White) O’Neil.
The CHS Alumni Association is asking alumni to support its annual fundraising efforts by contributing to its 501c(3) nonprofit organization for Canton High School. The association has over 9,000 names in its database. Congratulations to Canton High School’s superstar swimmer Sebastian Melendez, who repeated his 2016 performance as the state champion of the 200-yard freestyle (1:40.27). He also won the Division 2 state championship in the 100-yard freestyle (45.85). Sebastian also anchored the 200-yard freestyle relay for Canton High School to a second-place finish and the 400-yard freestyle to a fifth-place finish …
