McPherson, William B.

William B. McPherson, Jr., 94, of Canton, passed away April 8 surrounded by his loving family.

Born and raised in Dorchester (St. Peter’s parish), Bill graduated from Boston English High and then continued on to Wentworth Institute. In 1941 he joined the carpenters union and worked on various projects before he entered the Navy flight program in 1943 and graduated as a fighter pilot.

In 1945 he married Regina and left the Navy as a full lieutenant. They moved to Canton in 1951 and Bill worked in acoustical contracting until 1962 when he established Central Ceilings. After turning over the day-to-day operations, he continued to stay active with the business …
