Born in Glasgow, Scotland, he was raised in Saugus and graduated from Saugus High School, Northeastern University, and Lowell Technological Institute. John was a veteran of the United States Army and worked as a civil engineer for the Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Metropolitan District Commission.
