Local accounting firm promotes ‘backpack challenge’
By Canton CitizenGray, Gray & Gray, LLP, a Canton-based accounting and business advisory firm, is partnering with Cradles to Crayons in a back-to-school “backpack challenge” to provide underprivileged families with backpacks filled with the essential items necessary for their children to succeed. Through the Gray, Gray & Gray Charitable Foundation, the firm is donating $1,000 toward the program. In addition, the firm has set a goal of filling 50 backpacks with items donated by clients, friends, and team members for donation to disadvantaged children through Cradles to Crayons.
Through August 4, visitors to the Gray, Gray & Gray offices in Canton can drop off items from the requested supply list at a “Back to School” Cradles to Crayons lobby display. Visitors are also encouraged to take a “paper backpack” and purchase and fill a backpack to donate, or to make a financial donation through the Cradles to Crayons website.
“Our connection with Cradles to Crayons is in keeping with the mission of the Gray, Gray & Gray Charitable Foundation: Making a difference by actively supporting causes impacting the health and wellness of the community,” said Joe Ciccarello, CPA, managing partner of Gray, Gray & Gray. “And, who knows? The backpack we fill today may someday return to our offices on the shoulder of a newly graduated accountant or business professional!”
