CABI holds 11th annual Tom Clark golf tourney
By Canton CitizenThe Canton Association of Business & Industry (CABI) hosted its 11th annual Tom Clark Golf Outing on June 19. Tom Clark was a founding member and former president of CABI, and the event was created to honor his memory. Following the golf, a reception was held in the clubhouse. Chris Cark and Paul Clark graciously thanked event supporters.
More than 45 golfers participated in this year’s event. Buffalo Lodging Associates took first place while HanCor finished second and Abbott-Action placed third. Fire Chief Charles Doody won the contest for closest to the line; Mark Cinar won closest to the pin; and Paul Devin won the putting contest.
Roger Pritzker, CABI member and former president and board member, received a special honor at the event. CABI President Brian Mahoney presented him with a certificate from the Massachusetts House of Representatives that recognized his more than 30 years of charitable and dedicated service to the Canton community.
On behalf of the Canton Fire Department, Chief Doody accepted a $4,000 donation from CABI. The funds will be used to purchase ballistic vests for firefighters and emergency medical technicians, and will be worn when responding to active shooter incidents. According to Chief Doody, this type of equipment is outside of their normal budget and would not be possible without this support. He is grateful for this opportunity to improve the safety of Canton’s first responders.
CABI directors and Golf Committee members thanked the Milton Hoosic Club for hosting the event, along with all supporters and attendees.
CABI is a nonprofit corporation working since 1972 to make Canton a better community for both business and residents. CABI’s next community event is the 13th annual Canton Road Race being held on September 24. City of Boston Credit Union is the presenter of this year’s race.
