Monahan, William L.
By Canton CitizenWilliam L. Monahan, 77, of Bourne and Naples, FL, and formerly of Canton, passed away at Falmouth Hospital on Monday, August 14, 2017. He was the beloved husband of Elizabeth (Kinsella) Monahan for 51 years.
In addition to his wife, William is survived by his children, Kelly Monahan of Canton and Edward Monahan and his wife, Kathleen, of Stoughton; and his grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Kaley, Zachary, and Jakob Monahan. He also leaves his brothers, James and his wife, Ruth, of Norwood, George and his wife, Clare, of Newton, and Father Kieran Monahan (deceased).
William served in the U.S. Army as a 1st lieutenant. He graduated from Boston Latin and Northeastern University. He then worked as an industrial engineer for many years, including time at EI&S and 20 years at Siemens Orlando, FL. He enjoyed golf, time with friends and family, and winning trivia.
William was a member of the Canton School Committee for 12 years. He was honored to be chairman of the School Committee and to hand his daughter, son and their friends their diplomas.
