The Canton Veterans Services Department, in conjunction with Brookhaven Hospice and the We Honor Veterans program, held a recognition event on Sunday for veterans of the Vietnam Era (1955-75) in commemoration of the 50th anniversary of the Vietnam War. The ceremony, held at Canton High School, featured remarks by Canton Veterans Agent Tony Andreotti as well as thank-you presentations for veterans and surviving spouses and a roll call of Canton soldiers who lost their lives in the Vietnam War or who later died as a result of Agent Orange exposure. Honored guests in attendance at the ceremony included state Senator Walter Timilty, state Rep. Bill Galvin, Selectmen Chairman John Connolly, and Michele Clayborne, VP of operations for Brookhaven Hospice.
