Antonino Ruggeri, who is now attending Emerson College, won the award for Best Leading Actor for his comic and powerful performance of Edna Turnblad, and Selina Williams-Pascual, who is now attending Massasoit Community College, won the award for Best Featured Actress for her stunning portrayal of Motormouth Maybelle.

The production’s hair and makeup crew also took home the award for Best Hair and Makeup, which was accepted by crew head Julia Quinn, who is now a senior at CHS.

The MET awards are chosen by three theatre professionals who attend and review the shows. It is run by the Massachusetts Educational Theatre Guild, an 80-year-old institution that holds many different events each year with the aim to celebrate and enrich theatre programs at schools across Massachusetts.
