Jones, Robert P.

Robert (Bob) P. Jones, 87, of Canton, passed away peacefully on November 19 at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center.

Born and raised in Brighton, he graduated from Boston Technical High School, Class of 1950. Misrepresenting his age, he served nearly five years in the Marine Corps Reserve. Called to active duty during the Korean Conflict, he was assigned to the rifle range as an instructor at Camp Lejeune, NC. He attained the rank of sergeant during this period and was released from active duty in 1952. Shortly after returning home he began his apprenticeship as a pipefitter and was a retired member of Local 537.
