Balsamo, Salvatore A.
By Canton CitizenSalvatore A. Balsamo, of Marco Island, FL, formerly of Canton, Dover and Dorchester, passed away December 28 surrounded by his loving family. Born and raised in Dorchester, he attended Boston Technical High School and was a veteran of the United States Army. He was proud of his Italian heritage and learned many lessons from his immigrant parents. They included the importance of family, the value of hard work, and the responsibility of helping others in need. He taught those values to his children and created a unique family culture in his company.
Sal was principal owner, founder and chairman of the board of TAC Worldwide Companies. TAC was the largest privately held company of its kind in the United States that specialized in providing qualified temporary and contract professionals to companies in the U.S. and 23 countries in North America, Europe and Southeast Asia.
He held leadership positions with various professional organizations and received numerous awards which recognized his leadership and community involvement.
Mr. Balsamo was the founder and trustee of the Balsamo Memorial Charitable Foundation, a nonprofit organization that existed for the sole purpose of conducting fundraising events on behalf of worthwhile charities that served the needs of children and the elderly.
