Did you know …

Canton homeowners will soon see their property tax bills increase even though the rate recommended by the tax assessor and approved by the Board of Selectmen fell from $12.79 to $12.42 per thousand valuation. However, property values in Canton increased with the average single-family assessment rising 3 percent from last year to $519,203. According to Rocco DiGirolamo, chairman of the Board of Assessors, the average Canton homeowner will only see a slight increase on their tax bill (an average of only $2) from fiscal year 2017 to fiscal year 2018.
