O’Brien, Rose E.
By Canton CitizenRose E. O’Brien (Harkins), 88, of Canton, passed away February 5 at Hancock Park and Nursing Center in Quincy.
Born in Clonmany County, Donegal, Ireland, she came to the United States at the age of 21. She previously lived in Roslindale before moving to Canton in 1975. She worked as a book binder for the Boston Public Library for many years before retiring.
Beloved wife of the late Matthew F., Jr. Step-mother of John O’Brien and his wife, Cathy, of Mashpee, Paul O’Brien and his wife, Jane, of Braintree, Mark O’Brien and his wife, Ann Marie, of Canton, Jane Negronida and her husband, Tim, of Highland Park, IL, and Mary McGovern and her husband, Phil, of Chicago, IL. Cousin of Mary Biggins of Quincy. Also survived by 10 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Visiting hours at the Dockray & Thomas Funeral Home, 455 Washington Street, Thursday (today) from 4-8 p.m. Funeral mass in St. Mary’s Church in Randolph Friday at 12 noon. Burial St. Mary’s Cemetery, Canton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Mary’s Church, 211 N. Main St., Randolph, MA 02368.
